Happy Monday!!! How was your weekend?? I am linking this post for MIMM hosted by Katie.
Marvelous is to do HIT and RUN 5K on Saturday morning. As previously mentioned I did the HIT and RUN 5K with my husband. The wave we were in was at 9 am. So we started early had Almond Butter toasts and reached the venue by 8.15 am. There were many volunteers helping around. We took a couple of pictures and placed our items in the locker. Our wave started at around 9 am. It was pretty hot around 88F but excited about all those obstacles and how we are going to handle them .
The first one was Slippery Slopes where we will have to try to stay on top of the skinny bridge, and go around or under the stalactites. There were four dodge ball canons so we need to pass them and continue walking on the ramp. Meanwhile the volunteers will be spraying water at you to distract us. I managed through half of the ramp but by spraying water continuously the ramp was so slippery so I slid and continued the race.
The second obstacle is Whacking Wall where we need to lookout for flying, wet distractions! At this obstacle while sliding the obstacle I sprained the knee by balancing on one leg. So I was unable as its paining a lot so brisk walked the rest of the course. The third obstacle is Bouncy Bridge where we will have to jump over 3 big balls and cross it. As my knee is already sprained I just walked the whole obstacle. The fourth obstacle is Wobble Walk where where we will have to move quickly to get over the wiggling, wobbling posts in the pole walk.I didn’t do it as I feared my knee may get strained more. The last obstacle is Duck or Dive. There are 6 balance beams to cross over the pools. We need to avoid the giant, spinning balls, and made it to the end but also got drenched in the water. I was disappointed as my knee was sprained but it was so much fun. Spent the rest of the weekend doing grocery shopping, taking care of the knee (applying occasional ice packs, pain medications) and meal planning for the week.
Monday: Ridge gourd curry, brown rice / Birthday Party
Saturday: Rice, Sambhar, Papad / Idli –Sambhar
Sunday: Rice, Dal, Anapakaya Pulusu / Leftovers
So any fun things did you do this weekend??
Did you meal plan this week??
