My eats lately have been all over the place. After doing 2 rounds of Shred in Summer I managed to eat in proportion. Being Summer I have been going lots of get together, parties and obviously lots of sugar in form of drinks, desserts and not to forget deep fried food. In between moving, and sorting and arranging things around the new home, the workouts took a back seat. I had some occasional walks and yoga but not the real cardio /strength training.
So I promised my self that I will be doing a Detox Cleanse Challenge by eating clean and working out 5-6 days a week. I will be doing this challenge till October first week, as I will be going on a vacation in the second week (which is the second reason to do this challenge).
During this challenge I will be giving up the following
- Fried Food / Junk food
- White carbs
- Processed foods
- Coffee ( just one cup per day)
This challenge focuses on eating real food, vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains. Also I will be using oils sparingly.
Benefits of the cleanse are:
- Clear out the toxins
- Balance your hormones
- Increase energy and circulation
- Improve digestion, concentration and sleep quality
- Strengthen immune system
- Lower risk of cancer
- Clearer skin and healthier hair
- Reduces stress
For the Fitness part, I am planning to do mix of Strength Training / Cardio (Zumba, Running) / Yoga. Will be using the workouts of the previous shreds. I will compile the workouts and post it at the end of the week.
Have you ever tried to detox cleanse your body?? If so how do you feel??
