Gaining weight back after losing it is some thing most of us don’t want to think about. But I think most of us have that doubt at the back of our minds when we lose the weight.
According to a research most of the people buy clothes in the size they want to be, hoping that seeing them every day will motivate them to keep losing the weight. Some keep their ‘fat’ clothes handy, either as a reminder to stay on track or as ‘just in case’ if they fall off the wagon.
I was this type of woman a few weeks back. After having my daughter I was a size 12 and struggled losing weight. Slowly by eating right and exercising I came down to 3 sizes. But I had pants in sizes 12, 10, 8 and 6 and I still have a few of them. Mainly because that reminds me of my previous body and also I was thinking of having another one in couple of years. So this might be handy if I gain the some weight back. In the previous pregnancy I hardly exercised and made some unhealthy choice of eats. But in my next pregnancy I am thinking to exercise most of the days and to have healthy and balanced meals. So I may not put that much weight as I did in my previous. So finally decided to donate all those pants/dresses which are of size 10 and 12. ( will keep size 8 though ).
On the one hand, it seems like torture to look at clothes you can’t fit into or clothes that remind you of a former you. On the other hand, maybe those reminders offer a strength of some kind…a resolve to stay on the exercise path. I think it all depends on the person and what motivates them.
So, what about you? Have you ever kept your ‘fat’ or ‘skinny’ clothes to motivate yourself? Or perhaps you keep them just in case you fall off the wagon?
