It’s the first day of the #AprilArmsChallenge. For today’s challenge is to complete “Pyramid Pushups”.
How to do them:
Assume a pushup position. Do one pushup, down and up. That’s one rep.
Flip over so you are sitting on the ground. Squeezing your fists, raise your arms up overhead and then lower back down. That’s one rep.
Flip back over to pushup position, this time do two pushups, down & up, down & up.
Flip back over to sitting, do two overhead presses, up & down, up & down.
Repeat all the way up to 5 reps of each, and then back down again to 1.
Important to note:
The key to making pyramid push-ups effective is to slow them down and switch up your tempo. Don’t rush through the reps. Instead, hold a little longer at the top of your push-up. Hold a little extra at the end of your overhead press. Pretend you are in a boot camp class and not allowed to move onto the next few reps until the instructor tells you to. Challenge yourself!
I have completed first the Pyramid Pushups. The first set 1 to 5 was easy and latter was a bit difficult. Once I am done with the Pushups, I started the Day 8 of the 30 Day Shred. To be frank, I felt pretty easy doing the exercises and just 2 more days left to complete the Level 1. By combining both the Pyramid Pushups and Day 8 of 30 Day Shred, I have burned 275 calories and about 25% fat.
I am thinking to do the #AprilArmsChallenge tomorrow morning and if possible the Day 9 of 30 Day Shred, so I can have some “me” time in the evening .
