There might be thousands of us who hates working out or thinks it as a chore. I used to be one of them, giving the lame excuses even for a 20 minute workout. There are some easy ways to get motivated to exercise, follow these for a few months and then hopefully you’ll get bitten by the workout-loving bug .
Lay down your workout apparel and shoes by the side of your bed in the night . Some times just putting the workout dress can help you to get motivated to workout in the morning.
Set goals and let every one know. May be post on the social networking site or your blog . Tell your co-workers, family members, friends about your goal either to lose 5 or 10 or 20 pounds, to run a 5k or a half marathon.
Find a fitness buddy may be your friend or family member who has a similar goal and pushes you to the limit to achieve the goal.
Promise yourself something once you’re done. Not any chocolate cake or sweet indulgence but a massage, pedicure, facial, new dress.
Stop over-thinking it. Some times you just have to stop thinking, wondering and playing the mental back and forth match of ‘I need to work out, but I don’t want to’ and just do it.
Get started. Instead of starting from Monday or On the first of a particular month, start the very moment when you think you need to exercise.
Find the time. Instead of watching TV or surfing the internet, take a walk or do some yoga or in home dvds. Time management is all about prioritizing and it is crucial that staying both physically and mentally healthy through exercise be one of the top priorities on your list.
Find the physical activity that you enjoy. While some people enjoy running for long periods of time, some enjoy tennis or strength training. It is always important to find activities which are comfortable and you enjoy doing this. If you are trying to get rid of fat and gain muscle try alternating cardio exercises with strength training exercises.
Push yourself. Your body right now is the result of everything you have done and all the effort you have put into maintaining it. If this current state is not satisfactory for you, you are the only one who can make those changes.
Hope the above ways will motivate you to exercise more. I used be the one who hates working out and made all those excuses, but I am responsible for the state of my body and I need to take charge of it to be fit and healthy.
