Yesterday evening after preparing dinner I have decided to test Polar FT40 by doing 30 Day Shred Level 1. As I have already did the 30 Day Shred in November I know what to expect, but was skeptical about the number of calories I am burning as it’s a 20 min workout.
So I opened the Polar FT40, there is a watch monitor and a chest strap. The chest strap has 2 electrodes which calculates the heart rate and this is received by the heart rate monitor. I put on the chest strap, entered the basic information such as height, weight, birthday on the monitor and its ready to be used. At the end of 24 minutes (20 minutes workout, 2 minutes warm up, 2 minutes cool down) I checked the heart rate monitor and I have burned 231 calories and 23% calorie fat. That’s huge number of calories, as I was thinking the number to be around 150, but Jillian is no joke.
She makes sure each and every body part is worked out in that 20 minutes. I thought overall my Polar FT40 is pretty good device to know the amount of calories burned and also to monitor my heart rate. There are still couple of features which I need to explore and will post more about them in the future posts.
What are your thoughts on the new Polar FT40?
