I have never been overweight my whole life till I got married. I remember one day ( before marriage) having a conversation with my mom and aunt. We were discussing about the weight women put on after marriage and slowly it increases due to pregnancy and being negligent to take care of yourself as your first priority being the family. And then there I am bashing all this and saying I would never been that woman blah blah.. and my mom n aunt saying you too will follow the line don’t worry. Fast forward 4 years here I am writing this blog to post about my weight loss journey.
I was a happy 120lb (54kgs) girl before marriage(Oct 2008). Then after marriage moved to the USA with my husband and started my route to overweight. My fridge was always stocked with the goodies ( chocolate, ice-creams, cupcakes). And before I knew I was a whooping 140lb (June 2009) in under 5 months. So again I was working out , controlling food portions and lost 5lbs. During this weight loss I became pregnant and thanks to the morning sickness I lost another 5 lbs now being at 130 lbs (January 2010). I was so happy and then the doctors words came “Don’t be too happy as you will gain all those weight back in the few months “. And true to that I was 165 pounds (my heaviest) before delivery.
After the delivery I tried to lose weight in all ways possible, mean while went to India and came back with my heaviest weight of 165lbs(75kgs).
I started working out, taking Zumba classes, yoga, eating right, controlling portions I lost 25lbs in an year. Today i.e. November 9th 2012 I am at a healthy weight of 140lbs(63kgs). I still have 20lbs to lose and my target is to lose my early next year. Hence from today I am going to update regularly with my food intake, workouts and some healthy recipes. Wish me all the best on this journey.
See you all tomorrow with an update of my food intake.
Note: If on a weight loss journey and would like to weigh in once a week. Pick Wednesday as its being mid of the week and you will see some great results too.
